Chevin Housing Group

Visit http://www.chantry-hsg.co.uk (opens a new window)

The Chevin Housing Group was formed in 2001 between Chevin Housing Association, Chantry Housing Association and Harewood Housing Society. Following a restructure in 2003 the Group now consists of Chevin Housing Association and Harewood Housing Society. Chevin, the parent company owns, manages and maintains the Group's rented homes and Harewood manages and maintains the Group's leasehold properties and also provides a management service to private sector leaseholders. In November 2004, Hallam Housing Society merged with the Group adding another 1500 properties to our stock.

The primary objective of the Group is to develop sustainable neighbourhoods and in order to achieve this we are involved in a diverse range of activities. These include: managing and maintaining rented and leasehold homes; the development of new and refurbished homes (including rented, leasehold and sale options); and regeneration services which include working in partnership with local people to enable them to play a part in the future of their neighbourhoods.

Chevin is a charitable association and an Industrial and Provident Society, which owns and manages around 7,000 homes covering a wide range of needs including single people, families, older people and people with support needs. The homes are located in 19 local authority areas, across Yorkshire and the Humber. The association is in partnership with a wide range of local authorities both rural and urban, providing development and regeneration expertise. The development programme is currently running at around £20m per annum.

Chevin is a member of the National Housing Federation and has signed up to the NHF's 'iN Business' strategy. Chevin is fully committed to working in partnership to provide neighbourhoods which people want to live in.
